Kyra Minturn
Kyra Minturn Sedgwick (born on 19th August 1965) is an American actress, producer and director. Her most well-known character is that of the Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson, on TNT's crime drama The Closer. Sedgwick won an Emmy Award in 2010 and she also won a Golden Globe Award for 2007 for her portrayal Johnson. Following the seventh season, Sedgwick was awarded a Golden Globe Award in 2007 as well as an Emmy Award in 2010. The series ended August 13, 2012. Sedgwick is also well-known for her role in Brooklyn Nine-Nine, playing Madeline Wuntch. Sedgwick was nominated for the Golden Globe for her role in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's roles in other films include Oliver Stone's Born to the Fourth of July (1989) and Cameron Crowe's singles (1992) as well as Heart and Souls(93), Phenomenon (1996), What's cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick is the daughter Patricia Rosenwald, an educator, family therapist, venture capitalist as well as Henry Dwight Sedgwick VII, a speech therapist. Her mother was Jewish. Her father was an Episcopalian and of English descent. Sedgwick declares herself Jewish, and she has stated that she is a participant in Passover seders.
